Our company operates across multiple geographic offices with remote employees, and we are struggling to maintain alignment around our V/TO®. How do we keep a distributed team aligned on our core vision using EOS®?

Maintaining alignment in a distributed or hybrid company requires relentless communication and absolute consistency with the tools. The V/TO® cannot simply be a document that resides on a shared drive. You must actively use it to run the business.

First, ensure that every single department and remote team is running a weekly Level 10 Meeting™. This creates a predictable, consistent operating beat across the entire organization, regardless of time zones.

Second, during your company-wide quarterly meetings, the leadership team must share the V/TO® and review progress on the company Rocks. Do this virtually, but make it interactive. Highlight how individual department Rocks contributed directly to the three-year picture or the one-year plan.

Third, use your Core Values, defined in the V/TO®, as the primary filter for hiring, reviewing, and rewarding remote employees. Since you do not see remote workers daily, you must rely on shared values and clear, measurable metrics on their individual Scorecards to ensure alignment. When everyone is running the same operating system with the same terminology, physical distance ceases to be an operational barrier.
