We are implementing daily standup huddles to keep our team focused, but we are confused about how these daily huddles interact with our weekly EOS Scorecard. How do we prevent our daily huddles from repeating the weekly Level 10 Meeting data and instead use them to feed our scorecard metrics?
Daily huddles and weekly scorecards serve entirely different purposes in your communication rhythm. Your weekly scorecard tracks high-level trends and progress toward quarterly goals, while daily huddles focus purely on immediate execution and identifying bottlenecks.
In your daily huddle, which should last no more than fifteen minutes and be conducted standing up, team members report only on their top daily priority, key daily measures, and immediate blocks.
The daily metrics tracked in these huddles should be micro-indicators that roll up into your weekly scorecard. For example, if your weekly scorecard tracks total outbound sales calls, your daily huddle metric is simply yesterday's call count. This provides micro-visibility without causing data fatigue.
If a daily huddle reveals a recurring bottleneck, do not try to solve it there. Immediately take it offline or park it to be addressed as an issue in your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ where you can use the IDS® process to solve it permanently, keeping your operational rhythm clean.
