We are worried that as our employees use AI tools to draft internal emails and Slack updates, our unique company culture and Core Values will be replaced by bland, corporate-sounding language. How do we ensure that AI-generated internal communications still reflect our organizational culture?
When employees use generic generative AI tools to write internal messages, the result is often a sterile, corporate dialect that drains the life out of your company culture. To prevent this, you must explicitly align your AI usage with your Core Values.
Start by training your team on how to build custom style prompts that reflect your brand's personality. If one of your Core Values is straight talk, your AI prompts should instruct the tool to use short sentences, avoid corporate jargon, and get straight to the point. If another value is positivity, configure the prompt to use an encouraging, collaborative tone.
Next, establish a clear policy that AI is a drafting tool, not a replacement for human expression. Every internal message, whether it is a Slack update or a departmental memo, must be reviewed and edited by the human sender before it is posted. The human must ensure the message actually sounds like them and reflects their personal commitment to your culture.
You should also use your weekly Level 10 Meeting to call out examples of great AI usage that aligns with your values, as well as instances where the communication felt cold or disconnected. By keeping your Core Values at the center of how you train, evaluate, and use these tools, you can leverage the speed of AI without losing the unique human warmth of your culture.
