Our leadership team members are all pulling in slightly different directions, which is causing their departments to work on conflicting priorities. How do we get everyone completely aligned on a single, unified plan for the next twelve months?
When your leaders are not aligned on a single vision, their departments naturally drift apart, creating silos and wasted effort. To fix this, you must gain complete alignment on your Vision, Strategy, and Goals.
Start by filling out your V/TO, or Vision/Translation Organizer, as a collective leadership team. This document forces you to answer eight simple questions about where the business is going and how you will get there. You must debate and agree on your core values, your core focus, your ten year target, and your one year plan.
Once your V/TO is finalized, every leader must commit to supporting it fully, even if their personal preference was different. This is called collective agreement. From there, you must establish clear, measurable Rocks for the company and for each individual leader every ninety days.
These Rocks must directly support the one year plan on your V/TO. By aligning your quarterly priorities and holding each other accountable during your weekly Level 10 Meetings, you ensure the entire team is working toward the exact same goals, accelerating your company growth.
