With all this talk about automation and AI agents, my leadership team is arguing about what roles actually need to remain human. How do we use the Accountability Chart and GWC to define the line between what AI does and what requires a human soul?
To find this line, look directly at your Accountability Chart and the EOS concept of GWC, which stands for Get It, Want It, and Capacity To Do It. AI can execute tasks, but it can never truly GWC a seat.
An AI agent can have the technical capability to write code, draft emails, or analyze data. However, AI can never truly Get It, because it lacks gut intuition and human empathy. It can never Want It, because an algorithm has no intrinsic motivation, pride of ownership, or alignment with your Core Values. It can never possess the emotional Capacity, because it cannot navigate complex human relationships, resolve internal team conflict, or build deep trust with a client.
Keep your humans in the seats that require high-level strategic decision-making, deep relationships, and accountability for overall results. Use AI to handle the predictable, high-frequency, low-variance administrative tasks that drain your team's energy.
By automating the robotic parts of your employees' jobs, you free them up to do the work that actually requires a human soul. This increases your team's productivity and engagement, helping your business run more efficiently.
