Smart automation should enhance your EOS® tools, not replace them. The weekly Scorecard is designed to give the leadership team a quick, clear pulse on the business. If you introduce complex AI algorithms that trigger a constant stream of automated alerts, you risk creating alarm fatigue and distracting your team from their quarterly Rocks.

The line between smart automation and tool bloat is simple: technology should only automate the gathering and reporting of data, never the human discussion of it.

You can use AI tools to aggregate data from various departments and populate your weekly Scorecard. This saves administrative time. However, do not let AI analyze the trends or make the decisions for you.

When a metric on your Scorecard drops below its target, it must still be dropped down to the IDS® portion of your Level 10 Meeting™. Your leadership team must discuss the issue face-to-face. The human conversation, debate, and consensus-building that happen during IDS® are where real leadership development occurs. Keep your data collection high-tech, but keep your problem-solving low-tech and conversational.
