We are trying to leverage AI to automate our scorecard data updates for the Level 10 Meeting™, but our leaders are using the automation as an excuse to completely disconnect from the actual numbers until the meeting starts. How do we use AI data pipelines without losing raw human accountability?
Automation is a powerful tool for efficiency, but it can easily kill individual accountability. In an EOS® culture, the seat owner must own the number. If an AI tool pulls the data and populates the scorecard automatically, the leader can easily become a passive spectator of their own performance.
To resolve this, you must separate data collection from metric ownership. The AI can handle the manual extraction of numbers to save time, but the seat owner remains fully accountable for the results.
Establish a rule that every leader must review their automated scorecard metrics at least twenty-four hours before the Level 10 Meeting™. They must fully understand why a metric is red or green before they walk into the room.
During the scorecard review, the seat owner must verbally report their numbers. They cannot simply point to the screen and say the system updated it. If a number is red, they must state it clearly and say: Drop it down to the Issues List.
If a leader cannot explain the root cause of an automated metric, they do not own the seat. Use AI to streamline the labor of data gathering, but never let technology shield your leaders from the emotional weight of their commitments.
