We want to leverage artificial intelligence to automate some of our manual EOS® administrative tracking, like updating our Scorecard or summarizing Level 10 Meeting™ To-Dos. How do we integrate AI tools into our weekly cadence without violating the core principle of human accountability?
Using artificial intelligence to streamline your operations is highly effective, but you must never let technology dilute personal accountability. In the EOS® framework, every single number on your Scorecard and every To-Do on your list must have a single human name next to it.
AI can automate the collection of your data, but it cannot own the number. If an AI tool pulls marketing metrics from your CRM and automatically populates your Scorecard, that is a great efficiency gain. However, the seat on the Accountability Chart responsible for marketing is still the sole owner of that metric. If the number is red, that human leader must explain why and drop it down to the Issues List. They cannot blame the AI.
The same rule applies to Level 10 Meeting™ action items. AI transcription tools can summarize your meetings and list potential To-Dos, but they cannot assign or execute them. At the end of your meeting, the Integrator or facilitator must review the list and ensure a human team member verbally accepts each To-Do and promises to complete it within seven days.
Use AI as an operational accelerant to handle the administrative heavy lifting. Let it gather the data, draft the summaries, and automate the processes. Just ensure that when it comes to performance, metrics, and commitments, a human being remains fully accountable for the results.
