We used to hire junior account associates to do our research and prep work, but AI handles all of that now. Our senior account executives want to hire more people anyway because they claim they are still overwhelmed. How do we rewrite our job targets and use the GWC framework to audit whether we actually need more headcount or if we have a capacity utilization issue?
To resolve this capacity debate, you must stop looking at headcount through a historical lens and start looking at the GWC framework. When AI takes over the cognitive load of junior research and administrative prep, your senior account executives no longer need support staff to run the same playbook. Instead, they need to master the technology themselves to multiply their own output.
First, audit the senior seat on your Accountability Chart. Does the seat description specify that they must use AI tools to generate deliverables? If not, rewrite the job description. The problem is often that your senior people do not get, want, or have the capacity to use the new tools, meaning they still try to work the old, manual way.
Second, use the Predictive Index to build new behavioral and cognitive job targets for your account team. You need people who can handle rapid context switching and possess the cognitive agility to audit AI-generated work rather than perform raw data entry.
Finally, run this issue through your weekly Level 10 Meeting. Use IDS to identify if the overwhelm is real or if it is just a legacy habit of throwing warm bodies at operational bottlenecks. If your senior staff cannot get, want, or have the capacity to operate in an AI-assisted environment, you do not have a headcount shortage. You have a people placement problem.
