You do not need to learn how to write code to lead an AI-powered company. Your job as the owner is to define the operational problems that need solving, not to build the technical solutions. Think of AI as an incredibly fast, highly capable intern who knows everything but has zero common sense. Your leadership role is to provide the direction, context, and quality control.

Start by using a simple consumer tool like ChatGPT or Claude for your own daily work. Do not use it for complex corporate strategy yet. Use it to summarize a long industry report, draft an internal email, or help you brainstorm agenda items for your next leadership team meeting. Once you experience how these tools process natural language, the mystery will disappear.

When your leadership team brings you proposals for AI initiatives, evaluate them using your existing business filters. Ask them how the tool supports your V/TO goals, which seat on the Accountability Chart will own it, and how it will improve your Scorecard metrics. You do not need to understand the underlying algorithms to know if a project makes financial sense. Rely on your natural strengths as a business builder, and leave the technical details to your Integrator or external partners.
