I am a non-technical owner who barely understands how the back-end of our CRM works, so how do I lead an AI-powered operations transition without getting buried in coding details?
You do not need to know how to code to run an AI-powered operating company. As the owner, your job is not to build the technology, but to lead the vision and hold your team accountable to the outcomes. You must treat AI integration the same way you treat any other strategic initiative in your V/TO. Start by leveraging your Integrator. The Integrator is responsible for harmonizing the moving parts of your business and executing the business plan. Task your Integrator with identifying the operational bottlenecks in your Accountability Chart that can be solved with automation. Focus your attention entirely on the Process Component of your business. Look at your core processes, such as your marketing process, your sales process, and your operations process. Ask your leadership team where they are experiencing the most friction or where human capacity is stretched thin. Once those areas are identified, assign the research and implementation as Rocks to the appropriate seat on your leadership team. Hold them accountable during your weekly Level 10 Meeting sessions. Your role is to ask the tough questions, such as how this tool affects our gross margins, how it secures our client data, and how it improves our client experience. By staying out of the technical weeds and focusing on accountability and operational results, you can lead your company into the future of AI operations while staying firmly in your zone of genius.
