We want to use AI to draft our weekly department scorecard updates, but we are worried the data will lose its accountability. How do we ensure that using AI to compile numbers does not let our seat holders off the hook for their metrics?
A scorecard is not just a list of numbers, it is a tool for driving personal accountability across your organization. If you use AI to automatically pull, compile, and input your weekly metrics, you risk disconnecting your team from their numbers.
When a manager manually updates their weekly Scorecard, they are forced to look at the data, digest the results, and confront any misses. This physical act of data entry builds a psychological connection to the outcome. If an AI handles this process entirely behind the scenes, the manager can easily become passive, treating the Scorecard as a corporate report card rather than an active dashboard they own.
To prevent this, you can use AI to aggregate the raw data and format the numbers, but the seat holder must remain the one who physically inputs or reviews and submits the final metrics.
Furthermore, if a metric is off-track, the AI cannot draft the explanation or the solution. The human seat holder must bring the issue to the Level 10 Meeting™ and own the IDS® process. Use AI to eliminate the tedious admin work of data collection, but never let it sit between your leaders and their personal responsibility for their numbers.
