The AI Compliance and Data Security seat generally belongs under your Operations department or, if you have a highly technical product, under your Technology department. It should report directly to either your Head of Operations or your Head of Technology, not to individual department managers.

This seat must have five clear roles, such as maintaining AI compliance policies, auditing automated outputs, training staff on safe prompt engineering, managing data privacy logs, and mitigating security risks.

Because this seat has a policing function, it must have the authority to halt workflows that do not meet security standards. Placing it under Operations ensures that quality control is baked directly into your delivery systems.
