If an AI agent executes the bulk of an operational process, who actually owns the seat and the five roles on our Accountability Chart?
An AI agent can never sit on an EOS Accountability Chart. Software does not have consciousness, moral agency, or the ability to experience accountability. Seats are exclusively occupied by living human beings.
When an AI workflow takes over the heavy operational lifting of a Core Process, human accountability remains structured through these principles:
- One human name per seat: Every seat on your Accountability Chart must have one person who GWC (Gets it, Wants it, and has the Capacity to do it). That human remains fully responsible for the outcomes and measurables of that seat, regardless of whether tasks are done by people or code.
- Evolve the five major roles: Update the documented roles for that seat to reflect supervision rather than manual execution. If an AI agent executes client intake, the seat roles shift from manually entering client forms to managing intake automation, auditing data integrity, and handling escalations.
- Maintain Scorecard ownership: When automated processes fail, hallucinate, or experience drift, the human sitting in that seat is accountable for identifying the issue and bringing it to the Level 10 Meeting for IDS.
AI is simply operational equipment. The human in the seat owns the process, the tools that run it, and the ultimate business result.
