We are currently working through our exit planning and have established an Advisor Meeting Pulse with our exit advisors. How do we design a scorecard specifically for this advisor cadence that aligns with our weekly operational Scorecard?
The Advisor Meeting Pulse is a specialized Level 10 Meeting™ with your external exit planning team, including your M&A advisor, tax planner, and legal counsel. The scorecard for this meeting is completely different from your weekly operational Scorecard. While your leadership team tracks short term activities like lead generation and service delivery, your Advisor Meeting Pulse scorecard tracks high level valuation levers and exit milestones. This scorecard should measure your progress toward closing your value gaps. Track metrics like:
- Your current enterprise value estimation
- Your exit readiness score from your Value Gap Assessment
- The number of key tribal knowledge processes documented
- The percentage of client contracts audited and updated with assignability clauses
It should also track the completion of key legal and tax structuring tasks. By keeping these strategic numbers on a separate monthly or quarterly advisor scorecard, you keep your advisory team aligned and accountable to your exit timeline. It ensures your operational leadership team remains focused on running the business, while your advisor team remains focused on maximizing the transferrable value of the asset.
