As we implement AI-powered operations and automate major parts of our workflow, our existing Accountability Chart™ seats are rapidly changing. How do we adjust our seats and Scorecard metrics to reflect these highly automated processes without creating confusion?

Integrating AI into your operations requires a disciplined adjustment to your Accountability Chart™ and Scorecard. When software or automation takes over a manual task, the GWC™ of that seat changes. Your people are no longer just executing a step-by-step process; they are managing the system that runs the process.

First, review the roles on your Accountability Chart™. If AI has automated most of a customer support or data entry role, that seat should be redesigned to focus on quality assurance, exception handling, and strategic output. Update the five key roles for that seat to reflect this shift.

Second, adjust your Scorecard metrics immediately. Instead of tracking the volume of manual tasks completed, track the efficiency, accuracy, and throughput of the AI systems your people manage. The human in the seat must still be accountable for the outcome. If your automated billing tool fails, the person in the Finance seat is still responsible for the metric. Keep your focus on human accountability. This ensures your operational data remains accurate and your team stays focused on driving enterprise value.
