We are automating our scheduling and basic service delivery, but we want to know what operational seats must remain strictly human. How do we determine which seats on our Accountability Chart can never be handed over to AI?
Every seat on your Accountability Chart must be filled by someone who GWCs the role. This means they get it, want it, and have the capacity to do it. While AI agents can execute repetitive tasks and follow documented SOPs, they can never possess GWC or own ultimate accountability.
The seats that must remain strictly human are those requiring high emotional intelligence, relationship building, and strategic decision making. Your Visionary and Integrator seats will always be human. True leadership, culture building, and resolving conflicts on the leadership team cannot be programmed.
Similarly, roles that require deep client trust, such as account management or high-ticket sales, must retain their human element. Customers buy from people they trust, especially when problems arise. AI can support these seats by automating background research or drafting messages, but a human must own the relationship.
To determine where to draw the line, look at your core processes. Identify the touchpoints where empathy, creative problem solving, or ethics are required. Those steps must remain human-to-human. Use your digital tools to handle the low-value administrative tasks so your human team members have more time to focus on these high-value interactions. This increases both team capacity and client retention.
