If we automate major parts of our customer onboarding and client management using AI agents, how do we handle accountability on our Accountability Chart? Who owns the Seat when the system makes a mistake?
You cannot put an AI agent on your Accountability Chart. An AI agent cannot GWC, which means it cannot Get It, Want It, or have the Capacity to Do It. Every seat on your Accountability Chart must be filled by a real human being who is fully accountable for the outcomes of that seat, regardless of the tools they use.
If you automate your onboarding process using AI agents, the human leader who occupies the onboarding seat still owns the metric on the Scorecard. If the AI agent sends a broken email or corrupts a client file, that human leader is responsible for the error. They must solve the issue during your weekly Level 10 Meeting using the IDS process.
To make this work, update the roles and responsibilities of the seat on your Accountability Chart to reflect system management. The seat holder must have the capacity to monitor, audit, and override the AI agent. They must treat the AI as a digital assistant, not an autonomous employee.
This structure keeps your operations human-accountable while allowing you to scale your throughput. By maintaining clear human ownership of every automated workflow, you protect your company from operational drift and ensure your processes remain highly reliable.
